Who we are
We believe that every entrepreneur deserves to understand their numbers. Kenny and Amber met at college at University of Nebraska at Omaha where they both earned a bachelors degree then got married. Nothing like the love for T accounts to bring people together. After college we both went into public accounting. Kenny worked at a regional firm that specialized in healthcare consulting and Amber went to a Big 4 Firm. Kenny continue in public for about 5 years then moved to Internal Audit. Although his love working with business owners in the healthcare industry kept tugging at his heart strings.
Amber left the big four firm after a year and moved to internal audit. After working at internal audit for a couple of years she went back to school and got another bachelors degree in nursing at UNMC. She graduated December of 2019 and began working at a hospital in January of 2020. The first year was rough to say the least. She loves working with patients and remains in the hospital one day a week.
Throughout multiple discussions about working with small business owners and healthcare we decided to merge our passions together. Kenny grew up in rural Iowa and with his work as a consultant knew how difficult running a clinic can be. The idea of Leading Stone was born. We named the firm Leading Stone since that is what was used in the beginning of compasses. We want to guide you through difficult times and rejoice in your success.
Our role is to walk beside you. Not in front of you. With clear advice, proactive support, and a deep respect for your time and energy. Your business has a purpose. Our mission is to support it with honest, organized, and strategic financial care that helps lead you with clarity and grow with confidence.
